Content Policy

In short

Poeta is a poetry platform with open, anonymous publishing. That openness has limits: content that harms someone, isn't a good-faith poem at all, or is directly unlawful gets removed. If you come across content like that, report it using the “Report content” button on the poem's page.

What isn't allowed

The following categories of content violate this policy and can lead to a poem being removed, whether it was published anonymously or under a name:

• Explicit sexual content (pornography) — Poeta isn't a platform for this kind of content, regardless of whether it's framed as a poem.
• Promotion, advertising, or spam — text whose real purpose is selling or advertising something rather than being a poem.
• Hate speech and incitement to violence — content that insults, demeans, or calls for violence against a person or group based on race, sex, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or a similar characteristic.
• Someone else's personal information (doxxing) — publishing another person's address, contact details, or other personal information without consent and in bad faith.
• Harassment and threats — content aimed at harassing, intimidating, or threatening a specific person.
• Any other unlawful content — anything that violates Croatian or international law applicable to this service.

Publishing someone else's text without permission isn't covered by this policy — it has its own, more detailed reporting process on the Copyright page.

AI content flag

Besides reader reports, our AI system flags content while analyzing each published poem if it looks like it isn't a poem at all (e.g. spam, an ad) or contains someone else's personal contact information. That flag never removes or hides a poem by itself — it only puts it in the same human-review queue as reader reports.

How we handle a report

We review every report within a reasonable time. If we find the content violates this policy, we'll remove it. Borderline cases — dark, provocative, or explicit but legitimate poetry — are deliberately not removed; artistic freedom takes precedence as long as content stays outside the categories above. Reports are always reviewed by a human, never an automated system.
