In short

Your poem is yours. Publishing it on Poeta doesn't transfer ownership — it only gives us permission to display it on the platform. If someone else publishes your text without permission, report it (see below).

Ownership of your text

You keep full copyright over every poem you publish on Poeta. Publishing on the platform doesn't give up or transfer anything to us.

You are responsible for the content you publish. By publishing, you confirm that you are the author of the text, or that you have the right to share it, and that doing so doesn't infringe anyone else's copyright. This is the same thing our Terms & Conditions (§3) already say — this page just spells it out.

The license you grant the platform

For us to display your poem — on its own page, in the collection, in a social-share preview — we need your permission. By publishing, you grant Poeta a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and technically process your text solely to operate the platform (including sending it to third-party AI providers to generate the review — see our Privacy Policy).

This license is non-exclusive — you're free to publish the same poem anywhere else, with no restriction from us.

Deleting the poem or your account ends the license going forward. We can't guarantee removal of copies already outside our control — for example, if someone shared a link to your poem before deletion, or a search engine indexed it.

AI review and scores

The review, scores, themes, and mood our AI generates about your poem belong to Poeta — it's content our system creates, not you. It stays permanently attached to your poem and is deleted along with it.

Poeta is not responsible for the accuracy, tone, or appropriateness of AI-generated content. The review is an automated, informational analysis by one of ten AI critics — a subjective impression, not an expert or final judgment (see also Terms & Conditions, §5).

Anonymous publishing and authorship

You can publish a poem without registering and without a name. That also means the platform doesn't record who the real author of an anonymously published poem is — only you know that.

When you register (email/password or Google), your new account is always brand-new and independent — it never inherits poems you published anonymously before, even from the same device and browser. This is deliberate: anonymous means anonymous, not "anonymous until you register". There's no setting that changes this, and we don't plan to add one.

Ownership of abandoned anonymous poems

An "abandoned" anonymous poem is any poem published without registering whose session you can no longer prove is yours — for example because you've since registered (always with a new, separate account, see above), cleared your browser data, or switched devices. It's worth separating two things that are easy to conflate here:

• Ownership (legal) — stays permanently yours. Copyright arises the moment you write something, not from registering or signing in on Poeta. The platform never becomes the owner of that poem, and it never becomes "nobody's" — it remains the work of the person who wrote it, forever, regardless of whether that can be proven through the platform.
• Control through the platform (technical) — is permanently and deliberately cut off. There's no button, setting, or support path that reattaches an abandoned anonymous poem to your (new or old) account. We can't edit, delete, or hide it on your behalf, because through the platform you're no longer the one who published it — it stays displayed as "Anonymous".

If you want an abandoned anonymous poem removed

We can't give it back to your account (see above), but on request we can remove it from the platform if you send us sufficiently convincing evidence that you're the author — the same standard as reporting a copyright violation (see below): a link to the poem, an explanation/evidence of authorship, and your contact, to support@poeta.ink. That's removal, not reclaiming — the poem disappears from Poeta, but it won't appear in your profile.

Reporting a copyright violation

If you believe someone published a text you authored on Poeta without your permission, report that poem using the “Report content” button on its page, and email us at support@poeta.ink with:

• a link to the disputed poem on Poeta (poeta.ink/poem/…)
• a short explanation of why you believe the text is yours — ideally with a link or evidence that the same text was published elsewhere earlier (a blog, another platform, social media, a printed collection)
• your contact email, so we can reach you if needed

How we handle a report

We review every report in good faith and within a reasonable time. If we find it well-founded, we'll remove the disputed content; if the reported poem's author is registered and identifiable, we'll give them a chance to respond before permanent removal. We take deliberately false reports seriously, and they may lead to restricted access to the platform.
